My client, an established firm of building contractors working on a range of projects for regeneration, social housing, decent homes etc, are currently looking for a Communications Officer to work in their head office in East London. You will have a recognised qualification in public relations or journalism with a proven track record in a public relations or communications background. You will have a journalistic approach towards seeking out and recognising promotional news and publicity items in the following areas: Company initiatives: Tenders won, Resident liaison, quality and environmental initiatives, site production processes, green issues, modern methods of construction, sustainability-Internal and external events and key functions with clients and industry issues - Practicing in writing effective press releases, feature articles and news items. Excellent written and spoken English ESSENTIAL. You will have first rate media analytical skills. You have a full driving licence. Having a good understanding of the construction industry is an advantage, but not essential. You will be working to promote the profile, reputation and business prospects of the Company. You will be sourcing, researching and writing content for Source, research and write content for press releases and publicity items, Targeted media (construction) publications and the company website and in-house newsletter. You will also need to build and maintain relationships with editors of construction publications and other relevant media to publicise the Company clients’ key personnel, specifically their press/communication officers
