Our client, a rapidly developing Consultancy, who provide their services across a wide range of industry sectors, is now seeking graduates and experienced Structural Fire Engineering specialists to join its managed Passive Fire Protection services unit in Cheshire. This service has been established to focus on facilities associated with the production and processing of hydrocarbons, both onshore and offshore.This service has a number of elements to it, including condition assessment, fire risk analysis, performance standard development, specification development, QA/QC auditing, R&D etc but one of the key areas of this service is the ability to advise clients how to optimise the locations and thickness of PFP to reduce cost, weight and maintenance requirements. Candidates will have a good first degree in engineering or science and may be qualified to a higher level with a desire to specialise in fire engineering within the on/offshore hydrocarbon industries. The successful candidate should have a background in structural design or structural/FEA and a strong interest in non-linear analysis techniques under extreme loadings employing ABAQUS,ANSYS or DYNA finite element codes.
