My client is a large Irish contractor with infrastructure and mining interests in Africa. They are presently seeking an Earthworks Supervisor with heavy Civil Engineering experience for their office in Nigeria (all locations). The applicant should have wide ranging experience operating equipment used on earthmoving / road / mining / infrastructure projects. Having gained adequate hands-on operating experience, you should now be ready to take the step up to co-ordinating a modern fleet of plant and manage equipment operators, or already have some experience in this role. Previous experience in a similar position would definitely be an advantage. The nature of work will be • road construction • bulk earthworks associated with development of opencast mine sites • tailings dam construction • heavy duty pavement construction (airport, seaports etc). Candidates for project management staff should ideally have a third level qualification in Civil Engineering required and will be expected to have ability to manage all aspects of this role from start-up to hand-over. The position reports to the Site / Project Manager. A generous salary plus accommodation will be offered to the right individual.
