My client is one of the UK's largest and most diverse multidisciplinary consultancies operating in the building design, civil engineering sectors. They are currently seeking a Resident Engineer Buildings/Civils to work on Benghazi Airport, Libya. Responsible for the supervision and monitoring of all aspects of the project relating principally to the construction activities related to the building of the Passenger Terminal Building and the Landside infrastructure on behalf of the Project Management Team. You will report directly to the Senior Site Resident Engineer and the Engineering team to ensure total co-ordination of works. You will be deputising for the Resident Engineer, in their absence. Accountable for all aspects of the daily inspections of works and the checking and verification of testing regimes for materials and plant. They will be accountable for the checking and verification of survey information. Responsible for the monitoring of site progress against the Level 2 and Level 3 programmes, maintaining a daily record of progress, performance, quality, quantity and resources, responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards and verification that the contractors QA/QC procedures comply with contractual requirements. They will be responsible for checking sourcing and appropriateness of materials against the specifications and where necessary, arranging factory inspections. With full knowledge of establishing a testing and commissioning schedule, arranging witnessing of testing and commissioning and obtaining the contractors undertaking to complete outstanding works. Responsible for arranging regular site progress meetings in respect to the above and will report on all matters under his/her authority at the Weekly Senior Management Meeting. Member of a recognised related professional organisation. Significant senior level experience in the management of the installation of building systems on large scale complex projects
