THE ROLE

I am now seeking a HIGHWAYS DESIGN ENGINEER (PARKING) to join a firm of consultants in Barnet, North London.

You will develop a range of highways schemes.

You will provide technical support and do investigations and analysis as required within budgets and programmes.

THE CLIENT

My client is a large multi discipline firm of consulting engineers working on projects for public and private sector clients.

THE CANDIDATE

You will need to have experience of developing briefs, doing feasibility studies and undertaking design and implementation of schemes, projects and programmes for small and medium sized projects including drawing using specialist software.

You will assist with the design and supervision of projects, prepare estimates and working drawings and also conract documents.

You will assist in designing specifications and cost estimates, issuing works requisitions, liaise with and supervise contractors and also monitor costs.

You will carry out condition surveys and site surveys and report on findings.

You should be able to assess a vareity of existing and proposed highway layouts including town centre schemes, traffic signals, road safety schemes, route studies, bus and school initiative schemes etc.

You must have good experience in traffic / highways engineering and general knowledge of Traffic and Transport Policies and Legislation.

You should be able to programme, supervise and monitor a number of projects at a time.

Good written and verbal communication skills essential.

Salary very negotiable according to experience but likely to be in the range of £27000 to £34000 plus pension and other benefits.
