Salary / Rate: £40000 to £70000 per annum + pension and other benefits
I am seeking several PLANNING ENGINEER / SCHEDULER at Planner and Senior Planner levels to work on a variety of Airport related projects including baggage handling, car parking and other building projects to be based at Gatwick airport.
My client is the airport operator and they have a large budget to spend on a good variety of projects both now and in the future due to ambitious expansion plans and also general maintenance, alterations, refurbishments and changes.
You will be a Planning Engineer / Scheduler or Senior Planning Engineer with at least several years or more experience.
You will need to have “hands-on” planning experience and experience of using Primavera P6 plus MS Office Suite.
You will develop robust delivery schedules with clear milestones at appropriate levels and assist in the preparation of schedule data for proposals or contracts.
You will identify the scope of schedule activities.
You will determine schedule dates for work activities and determine milestones to support the project schedule.
You will establish work sequence and activity durations for projects and determine interdisciplinary constraints or interfaces that define activity sequences. You will work with the delivery team to coordinate work sequences with the total project plan. You will develop and apply installation rates to quantity takeoffs and develop quantities for assigned projects.
You will review and analyse the contractors’ schedules submitted for acceptance and provide the required recommendation to the project team.
You will develop the quantity release or installation curves for projects and review quantity logs to ensure total quantities are represented for projects and assist in the development of the required job hour expenditure for projects and assist in determining levelling decisions and perform quanitty and manpower ersource loading for schedules.
You will assist discipline or specialty engineers in developing their work plans and knowledge of overall discipline requirements.
You will assist in developing specific project Work Breakdown structure and codes of accounts and recommend appropriate modifications and revisions.
You will provide schedule knowledge on a continuous basis to assist in work planning and interfacing with others.
You will perform schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines etc.
You will prepare and develop study information and develop historical installation and implementation records of the projects as a guide and benchmarking for similar future works.
Experience in the use of Primavera P6 and MS Excel and experience in peforming, monitoring and reviewing and experience in performing quantity takeoffs, statistical analysis and computer operations.
You will need to be skilled in understanding construction technical processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and mathematical and financial reports.
You should have good knowledge of NEC contracts.
Salaries are very negotiable but probably in the region of £40000 to £70000 plus pension and benefits depending on your experience.
