THE ROLE

I am now seeking a Senior Claims Consultant who has good experience in the construction industry on large infrastructure projects, currently for rail related projects to be based in Vancouver, Canada.

THE CLIENT

My client is a successful firm of claims and cost consultants with a number of offices in the UK, Canada and more in the pipeline.

They have work in the UK, Canada, Europe, Middle East and elsewhere and are involved on claims work for buildings, infrastructure, oil & gas, process projects etc.

THE CANDIDATE

They are now seeking a SENIOR CLAIMS CONSULTANT for all dispute resolution and claims matters to join them in Vancouver, Canada on a long term basis and ideally seek someone who wants to live in Vancouver permanently or who is already in Canada.

Ideally my client would prefer a Canadian or British candidate for visa purposes.

You must be a skilled commercial / quantum and claims management consultant with at least ten years’ or more experience in the construction industry and preferably with a minimum of eight years’ or more exposure in claims preparation and dispute resolution across a range of project types and it is essential that you are experience in contentious claims work.

You should have at least fifteen years or more experience in the construction industry.

You must have good analytical skills and an eye for detail.

You must have excellent written and spoken English, and you must also be a Chartered Quantity Surveyor or Chartered Civil Engineer by training prior to moving in to doing claims and dispute work i.e. MRICS, MICE, MCIArb or similarly qualified.

You will also need to have a recognised BSc in either Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering from a recognised university and you will ideally have worked for either another firm of claims / dispute consultants or for large contractors having had good exposure to claims.

You may also have an MSc in Construction Law or MCIArb or similar.

You will need to have excellent knowledge across various contract types, and be able to work as part of a team or on your own initiative.

My client offers excellent prospects as their Vancouver office is new and will be expanding.

Salary is highly negotiable plus benefits.
