I am seeking a SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER to join a firm of consulting engineers in their WEST YORKSHIRE office.
You will provide technical support to our client’s civil and structural engineering departments.
You will need to be able to run your own projects and be technically proficient.
Our client is a successful firm of consulting engineers workng on civil, structural, geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering for projects in the private and public sectors.
They have a number of UK offices.
They offer excellent ongoing training and CPD and good training towards becoming chartered for those that need it.
You will need to have a Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or similar relevant subject.
You may be working towards becoming chartered or already be chartered.
You should have several years or more experience of working as a Geotechnical Engineer.
You should have experience of working for a firm of consulting engineers.
You will need to have gained broad based geotechnical experience and be able to deliver projects and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
You should be able to manage the workload of graduate engineers and technicians.
You should have experience of preparation of desk studies, supervision of fieldworks and interpretive reporting.
You should be able to prepare proposals and quotations for Geo-Environmental Site Investigations, Reports and Assessments.
You will have done geotechnical design of slopes, settlement analysis, soil engineering and foundation engineering.
You will have experience of geotechnical databases such as HoleBASE and use of slop stability applications such as SLIDE or SLOPE/W.
You should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken and good client facing skills.
Salary is very negotiable plus pension, health insurance and other benefits.
