This is an excellent opportunity for a SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER to work in Europe.
This role is for an SPM with experience of working for construction consultants on large commercial & industrial projects based in Geneva, Switzerland.
Contracts are in English (although French would be useful but not essential).
This is a long established large firm of construction consultants who have a broad base of clients in the private and public sectors with offices worldwide.
They are working on a good range of projects in the private and public sectors which includes construction projects for education, retail, commercial and industrial clients.
THE CANDIDATE / DUTIES
My client is now seeking a Senior Project Manager who can project manage the whole construction process from defining the sope of the project right through to project delivery on site.
You will need to have a Degree or Diploma in a Built Environment subject and will be either MRICS / MAPM qualified or have gained good experience and be Degree qualified but not necessarily chartered and support will be given if required to become RICS / APM qualified.
Ideally you will be working for another firm of consultants and will have front end project management experience through project delivery on site.
You will need to have excellent organisation and client facing skills along with being highly computer literate.
You should be able to work on your own or as part of a team.
You must be able to run your own projects, representing the client, offering advice to project manage the design and construction teams from initial concept through to final handover.
Duties will include defining the scope of the projects in collaboration witht eh client and confirming the design brief. Creating a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities and gateways needed to successfully complete the project.
You will determine the resources in terms of time, money, equipment etc. that is required and you will develop a schedule for project completion that allocates resources to the activities and you will ensure that a cost plan is prepared.
You will coordinate the tendering process from PQQ to contract award and execute the project according to the project plan. You will develop forms and records to document project activities.
You will chair and administer project team meetings and coordinate the work of the client and consultants including the designers and cost managers.
You will monitor the progress of the project and manage a robust change control process.
You will undertake value management exercises in collaboration with the client team and the contractor.
You will review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis.
You will monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures and montiro cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance.
You will administer the contract.
You will validate payments and issue interim certificates throughout the construction process.
You will manage and advise on testing and commissioning, defects and any extension of time claims.
You will oversee the practical completion and handover at the end of the project and evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.
This project is of high value and will include an HQ refurbishment, new restaurants, relocation of laboratories, landscaping, new fire station and more so previous experience of high value and complex projects is essential.
Salary for this role is very negotiable per annum plus benefits.
