My client now seeks an experienced SENIOR TRAFFIC & HIGHWAYS ENGINEER to join their Barnet office.

You should have similar experience and be able to run a number of schemes concurrently.


Our client is a large multi discipline firms of construction and engineering consultants with offices right across the U.K.

They provide a range of transport planning, traffic engineering and infrastructure design services and more for projects across the U.K.


Duties:- You will undertake research, evaluation, design and implementation of a vareity of schemes and projects of varying complexity.

You will assist in determining, planning and achieving a rolling programme of work for the team.

You will assist in obtaining the necessary technical, administrative and financial approvals.

You will lead in the preparation, supervision and administration of associated consultants commissions or contracts including assisting in negotiating with other external agencies which includes government departments, Mayor of London etc.

You will assist in reviewing work undertaken and advise on improvements and where necessary lead on the introduction of new methods to ensure efficiency.

You will liaise with other Agencies and Bodies to coordinate projects and attend meetings as required.

You will need to keep up to date with the latest developments relevant to the service and act as specialist advisor.

You will draft committee reports which may cover policy issues and to implement decisions arising from them.

You must have good experience in traffic and highway design.

You will have good knowledge of Traffic and Transport Policies and Legislation.

You will have experience to programme, supervise and monitor a number of projects from inception to completion.

You should have experience of managing budgets as well as management of contractors and consultants plus have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary is negotiable according to your experience plus pension etc..
