THE ROLE

This is an excellent opportunity for an ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER with a couple of years experience or more who is keen to join a large firm of construction consultants in their central London office to work alongside a Senior Project Manager.

You will have the opportunity of working on a range of construction projects representing the client mainly for a range of commercial and retail projects, possibly some residential.

Support will be given to become chartered with the RICS or APM so an RICS accredited Degree or Diploma is preferred.

THE CLIENT

The client is a firm of construction consultants with offices across the U.K. and some overseas.

They work on project management and cost management across a range of sectors.

THE CANDIDATE

My client is now seeking an Assistant Project Manager to work based from their London office with visits to site, to client offices etc. as required by the project.

You will have gained a couple of years or more post graduation working for another firm of consultants or for a developer.

You will need to have a Degree or Diploma in Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Construction Project Management, Architecture or Civil / Structural Engineering or similar built environment degree and you should be keen to become RICS or MAPM qualified.

You will have gained some project management experience with a firm of construction consultants or developer or main contractor (at least 1-2 years minimum) as my client is working from feasibility to project delivery.

You will need to have excellent organisation and client facing skills along with being highly computer literate.

You should be able to help run projects and you will work closely with an Senior Project Manager on high value projects or be able to run your own lower value projects.

Projects are generally from around £10m to over £50m or more.

Good communication skills are essetential along with being a good organiser.
