A great opportunity for a CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN for Roads, Drainage and Flood Risk projects etc. to join my client, a firm of consulting engineers in their Hertfordshire office.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious technician as our client is keen to rapidly grow the civil engineering department.


Our client is a successful firm of consulting engineers workng on civil and structual engineering projects.

They offer excellent ongoing training and CPD.

Currently around 25 people, they aim to rapidly expand their civil engineering department.


You will need to be a CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN with an HNC / HND / Degree or similar in Civil Engineering.

You will be offered great support towards becoming Chartered, Incorporated or Associate Member of the ICE or CIHT

You will need to have knowledge and experience of British construction methods and products.

You should have experience in the preparation of civil engineering layouts including general external works and levels, drainage and SUDS systems, surfacing specifications including use of NBS and sectional approval drawings for adopted drainage and highway works.

You will need experience of using Microdrainage (WinDes) including network design, simulation, source control, cascade and SUDS elements.

You will also need to have AutoCAD skills and ideally REVIT.

Some experience of 3D modelling software e.g. Civil 3D or PDS would be preferred.

Our client is working on a good variety of projects offering a varied workload and plenty of prospects for promotion for an ambitious candidate.

Salary is very negotiable according to your experience plus pension, discretionary bonus etc. plus support to become chartered.
