A great opportunity for a PRINCIPAL STRUCTURAL ENGINEER to join my client, a successful firm of consulting engineers in BIRMINGHAM.
You will working on a wide range of projects for commercial and industrial buildings plus infrastructure.
You will have broad based experience of building and infrastructure schemes including bridges, superstructure etc. and be able to lead a team.
Our client is a successful firm of consulting engineers workng on civil, structural, transport planning and other services.
They work on a wide range of strategic development, infrastructure and regeneration projects throughout the U.K.
They work on a good range of project types including commercial and industrial buildings, business parks, highways, bridges and more.
You will assist in leading the design of a number of structural / infrastructure schemes and mentor less experienced engineers.
You will liaise with clients.
They offer excellent ongoing training and CPD.
You will need to have a Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with five years or more structural design experience and have experience of structural engineering for a range of buildings, bridges and more.
You will be either working towards becoming chartered or already be chartered as a Structural Engineer e.g. working towards or already holding CEng MIStructE, CEng MICE, CEng MCIHT, Cenv CIWEM etc. or similar.
You must have experience of structural assessment, design and detailing of foundations (strip, pad, raft, piles etc.), superstructure elements (concrete, steel & timber), bridge foundations / abutments and retaining walls.
You may get involved with some civil engineering projects including highways, drainage, external work design where necessary.
Experience in the preparation of AIP documents for regulatory authority approval.
Good communication skills are essential to be able to deal with clients and the professional team. Also experience of liaising with the clients etc.
You should have some experience of AutoCAD / TEDDS.
You must have good experience gained in the U.K. and be fully knowledgeable in all relevant British Standards and Eurocodes.
Salary is in the region of £50000 to £55000 per annum, pension etc.
