I am seeking a Quantity Surveyor in the Building Construction industry who speaks both English and German to join my client in Vienna, Austria.

German at business level is required.

You are likely to have a Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or other construction / built environment subject with at least five years or more quantity surveying experience.

Ideally you will be MRICS or similarly qualified.

You will do both pre contract and post contract work so a background in private practice quantity surveying or client side is preferred.

You will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects for hightech including data centres, manufacturing plants, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, biotech.

Good cost engineering experience to work on a number of projects.


My client is a successful international firm of construction consultants providing both cost management and project management services worldwide.

They provide both cost management and project management services.


You will be a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager, with fluent English and German at business level.

You will need to have a Degree or Diploma in a Construction / Built environment subject and have good experience of quantity surveying and cost management experience ideally with both pre and post contract experience.

You may also be MRICS or similarly qualified.

You should be able to track budgets, expenditure, do forecasts and to help with the preparation and review of cost estimates and schules right across the building program.

You should be able to set up and take control of cost reporting across a portfolio of projects taking into account Capex and Opex costs.

You should be able to do analysis and integration of cost estimates and forecasts provided by the contractors and supliers and support the cost estimating process and ensure that changes are documented correctly.

You will review the cost impacts of changes and inforporate changes into the project control budget and current cost forecast and you will identify cost cariances to the approved budget via the Trend / Change management process and have an understanding of the Risk.

You will develop and monitor and maintain the overall monthly project cost reports.

You should have gained experience as a Quantity Surveyor working specifically for another firm of quantity surveying consultants or with a multi disciplinary firm of consultants or client side.

You should have worked on projects in at least one of these sectors:- hightech projects, data centres, pharmaceutical, biotech, manufacturing, oil & gas.

You will ideally have experience of working as a Quantity Surveyor in the United Kingdom, Germany or possibly elsewhere.

Salary is very negotiable for the right person along with good prospects.
