My client now seeks a SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER to manage all packaging design for a food factory based in LEEDS.
This is a contract role for around 6 months or slightly more.
You will deal with the client and project managers to understand project requirements, goals, design specifications and operational environments.
You will review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
You will manage all packaging design works to ensure that the whole project is completed as required on time and within budget.
You will develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans.
You will inspect and monitor work performed by OEM’s and subcontractors to verify that work is performed in accordance with contract plans and specifications, approved shop drawings and approved work plans.
You will monitor compliance by OEM’s with work site health and safety plans, reporting any non-compliant conditions to the contractor management and construction manager.
You will ensure the planning and observation of contractural provisions within the deadlines set forth by the contract and the design.
You will monitor construction progress and sub-contractors to ensure guildelines are maintained.
You will inform the client of the works progress.
You will report to management as needed and check and prepare site reports.
Our client is a firm of construction consultants doing cost management, project management, construction management of complex buildings and plant for a range of projects worldwide.
You will need to have the following:-
BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering
Good English – written and spoken.
Have a solid technical background with understanding and ideally hands-on experience in the process industry.
You will need to be competent in conflict and crisis management.
Have excellent client facing and internal communication skills.
You must be proficient in using MS Office plus MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD.
You must be able to read and understand technical drawings and documents for plant layouts, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment drawings, equipment datasheets etc.
You should have eight years or more experience of the construction and fit out of industrial projects ideally with experience of food industry projects.
You must have excellent organizational skills and good attention to detail.
You should have good skills in negotiating, supervising and some leadership experience.
Rate is negotiable.
