My client now seeks an experienced SENIOR TRANSPORT PLANNER to join their BIRMINGHAM office.
You should have three years or more experience of transport planning having worked in either the public or private sectors.
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects including residential, education, commercial, energy, master planning etc.
Projects include all aspects of parking, safety, access, sustainable travel and more.
You will work on the promotion of developments from site identification and acquisition and due diligence through the planning process.
You will be responsible for leading projects and preparing Transport Assessments and Transport Statements and Travel Plans plus Parking Management Strategies, Town Centre studies and Accessibility Planning analysis.
You will attend public consultations, liaise with project delivery teams and clients etc.
You will be responsible for resource management etc.
Our client is a large firm of engineering consultants with offices right across the U.K.
Our client is an award winning leading firm of consultants who are expanding their Transport Planning department.
You will need to have gained at least three years or more experience transport planning.
Your experience will have been gained with either the public or private sector.
You will need to have an MSc or Degree in Transport Planning or Civil Engineering or related discipline.
You may be a Member of CIHT, TPS or similar or you may be currently working towards chartered status.
You should have experience in the use of relevant software including ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, TRICS and AutoCAD.
Any experience of using TRACC, GIS, TRANSYT, VISSIM would be useful although not essential.
Experience in the UK is essential with knowledge of the planning system for Local Authorities, Boroughs and National policies.
You must have good knowledge of highway design principles.
Experience of travel plan formulation and delivery and experience of planning conditions discharge and Section 106.
Good English is essential – both written and spoken – for report writing.
Salary is highly negotiable plus there is a discretionary bonus, pension scheme, life assurance and other benefits.
