THE ROLE

I am seeking an Associate Quantity Surveyor, MRICS qualified for a medium to large firm of PQS to join their London office.

This is a good opportunity for a Project Surveyor or Senior Surveyor to step into their first role as an Associate or for an Associate Quantity Surveyor to move for better opportunities.

You will work on a good range of high value residential projects and also for offices.

You will use both JCT and NEC forms of contract.

You should be able to run your own projects from feasibility to handover or work as part of a team on larger projects.

This will be a client facing role delivering all stages of pre and post contract cost management (quantity surveying) services.

You will act as the main point of contact with new projects and you will help with the development of new business with prospective clients.

THE COMPANY

My client is a successful medium to large firm of construction consultants providing Quantity Surveying / Cost Management on high value projects both for large buildings and some infrastructure.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be a Project Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager or Senior QS or an Associate QS in the building construction industry who is MRICS qualified.

You will need to be working for another firm of construction consultants (PQS) or multi disciplinary consultants in the construction industry.

You will have a BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar subject.

You must have worked as a QS on projects from feasibility through project delivery and handover.

You should have some experience of business case planning and preparation.

You will need strong contract administration knowledge in particular in the use of JCT and NEC contracts along with good cost reporting skills.

You will be conversant with all pre and post contract duties.

You must have excellent English to write formal reports and documents and have a stable work record.

Good client facing skills are essential.

Salary is negotiable around £70000 to £85000 (or slightly more) per annum according to your level of experience plus RICS fees, pension, discretionary bonus (2 per annum) along with good prospects to move up to Partner level.
