THE ROLE

I am now seeking a Development Monitor at Associate Director level to join a large firm of consultants in their Fund / Development Monitoring division in central London.

You will join a dedicated team of monitoring specialists who are working on more than £3 billion of property / construction developments currently.

You will become involved in working closely with many financial institutions on a wide variety of construction projects across many sectors.

You will advise real estate developers / stakeholders including funders, occupiers, investors etc. on their interests in their development schemes.

Project types are wide ranging and include construction of residential, offices, mixed use, hotels, logistics and industrial buildings with properties values up to c. £500m.

There will be an opportunity for some hybrid working up to a 50/50 basis.

THE CLIENT

My client is a successful firm of construction consultants with a number of UK and overseas offices providing quantity surveying, project management, building surveying, and specialist services including monitoring services for banks, financial institutions and developers along with other services.

They occupy very nice offices in central London with offices further afield too.

THE CANDIDATE

You must be chartered as a Building Surveyor, an Architect, a Civil Engineer or Structural Engineer and have an interest in the monitoring role.

You must have excellent report writing skills.

You will advise clients of the development proposals, report and advise on the delivery of the developer credentials, financing, appraisal budgets, programme, design, statutory consents, third party legal agreements, site investigations and construction commercial set up. You will identify development risks. You will do monthly monitoring of the development doing progress reports and dealing with any risks etc. Some experience of the above would be preferred.

You will need a good eye for detail and have a good understanding of the construction process.

You will need to have excellent communication skills.

Previous experience of monitoring would be preferred but my client may also consider someone chartered who is keen to move into a monitoring role.

My client will pay in the region of £70000 to £75000 negotiable plus a range of benefits including car allowance, pension, health insurance, bonus, fees and more plus there are great prospects for ambitious candidates with this international firm.
