THE ROLE
I am seeking a Principal Quantity Surveyor who ideally chartered with the RICS to join them in Washington DC, USA.
Please note, a current Green Card or USA Visa is essential.
You will work on new build, refurbishment and fit out projects for a range of buildings and infrastructure projects.
You help to run projects and you will report to a Principal QS or Director depending on size of project.
There will be excellent prospects for promotion within this growing firm.
THE COMPANY
My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing project management, project controls and cost management services mainly to public sector clients.
They have two offices in the USA.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be a Principal Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager or a Senior QS looking to take the next step up to Principal.
You will need to be working for another firm of construction consultants or multi disciplinary consultants in the construction industry ideally in the USA.
You will either have a Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying which is RICS accredited or a similar degree and you will need to have gained experience of working as a QS for another firm of private practice quantity surveyors or multi disciplinary consultants.
You will be MRICS or similarly qualified.
You will have gained over eight years experience of pre and post contract duties including feasibility studies, cost estimating, cost planning, tender documentation and award, contract administration and all post contract duties.
You should have gained experience of managing and motivating other quantity surveyors and be able to be the key account manager for particular clients and projects.
You must have a current US Green Card or a US visa to work.
You must have excellent English to write formal reports and documents.
Salary is negotiable according to your experience but likely to be in the range of US$150000 to US$170000 plus medical insurance, discretionary bonus etc.
