THE ROLE
I am seeking a Project Manager or Project Co-ordinator or Site Manager, at intermediate level, in the Building Construction industry who has good or fluent German and good English to join a firm of construction consultants in Vienna, Austria.
Initial projects will be the new build, extension or fit out of Data Centres for a range of clients.
You will be based in Vienna but you will need to travel across Austria and also Germany to site or to clients as required by the projects.
Previous experience of working on data centres is not required but you should have worked as a project manager or project co-ordinator on industrial warehouses, large buildings or other complex construction projects.
Experience in the use of local construction constracts is preferred and ideally at least one year or more experience of working in the Austrian or German construction industry ideally in project management or similar. However, someone with fluent German and good project management experience who has not yet worked in Austria or Germany will be given serious consideration.
This role will offer great prospects for an ambitious project manager as this firm of construction consultants is expanding their client base and projects in Europe.
THE COMPANY
My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing clients with Project Management and Quantity Surveying services.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be Degree or MSc qualified in a construction related subject e.g. Construction Management, Construction Project Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or other Building Construction subject.
You will need to have gained several years experience or more in a building construction or MEP engineering related role and be keen to progress your career with a firm of consultants doing project management and project co-ordination.
You will ideally have been working for a firm of building construction consultants or worked client-side.
You must have an understanding of all commercial and economic aspects of construction projects of high value.
Ideally you will have experience of construction projects in Austria or Germany with an understanding of the local construction contracts but if you have fluent German and have not yet worked in Germany you will be given serious consideration.
Previous experience of working on data centres is not required as long as you have worked on the construction and fit out of other complex building projects.
You will need fluent or very good German and good English. Previous experience of working in the Austrian or German construction industry is preferred.
Good communication skills are essential and to have the ability to deal with people at all levels.
Salary is negotiable according to experience but in the region of Euro 55000 to 80000 per annum plus bonus and benefits.
