Region: World-Middle East
Salary / Rate: £7000 to £7500 per month plus accommodation allowance, flights, medical insurance etc.

THE ROLE

I am seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a firm of main contractors in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This is a good opportunity for a British Quantity Surveyor to gain overseas experience as previous experience of working overseas is not required in this instance.

You will work on new build, refurbishment and fit out projects for a range of buildings and also on a range of infrastructure projects.

You will report to two directors and there is also a British Contracts Manager in another office for any further help.

This role will offer long term prospects to move up as the company grows further.

THE COMPANY

My client is a successful family owned main contractor. They are a friendly firm and have offices in both Riyadh and in Jeddah.

They mostly work as a main contractor and sometimes as a sub-contractor.

Projects include both large buildings and also infrastructure including rail, roads etc.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be a Quantity Surveyor in the building construction industry in the U.K. currently.

You will need to be working for another firm of main contractors.

You will ideally have gained experience of large buildings but possibly also some civils / infrastructure experience.

You should be able to work under your own steam and have excellent experience of running your own projects as the Project Surveyor or Senior Project Surveyor.

You must have a Degree in either Quantity Surveying or in Commercial Management.

You do not need to be chartered.

You will have gained around eight to ten years or more experience of dealing with all post contract duties including variations, valuations, measuring for tenders and some pre-tender work plus sending out tenders.

Contracts in use are FIDIC and also bespoke contracts mainly FIDIC based.

You must have a British or possibly Irish passport.

Salary is negotiable according to your experience but will be in the range of £7000 to £7500 per month (paid in US Dollars or Saudi Riyals) plus there is an accommodation allowance equivalent to 3 months pay, a car if required, medical insurance and flights. Leave cycle will be according to marital status so 5 times a year if single status and less if with your spouse.

Our client will of course also pay for the Iqama and your required visit to the Saudi Embassy in London.
