THE ROLE

Due to continued growth my client now seeks a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager at Graduate or Assistant level, in the Building Construction industry to join them in Berlin, Germany.

Fluency in ENGLISH is essential (both written and spoken) plus you must be willing to learn German.

You will work on construction projects from feasibility through project delivery.

You will work as part of a team.

You will be responsible for cost planning and project control across all project phases.

You will also do benchmarking and Value Engineering and Value Analysis plus cost reporting etc.

My client is working for a range of international companies and projects include retail, logistics buildings, commercial offices, shopping centres and more.

You should be able to deal with people at all levels and support a Senior QS or Associate in running projects.

THE COMPANY

My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing clients with Project Management and Quantity Surveying services with offices in Germany.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be Degree qualified in a construction related subject e.g. Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.

You may be working towards sitting the APC to become RICS qualified.

You will need to have gained a year or more post graduate experience or during a year out experience or more working as a Quantity Surveyor on large building construction projects for a firm of construction consultants (PQS).

You will need some experience of feasibility studies, cost estimating, cost planning, cash flow forecasting, contractual advice, value engineering, contractor selection, tender documentation, along with all post contract work including valuations, variations etc.

Fluent written and spoken English is essential and you must be willing to take German language lessons.

Good communication skills are essential and to have the ability to deal with people at all levels.

You should be keen to work towards becoming chartered with the RICS and support will be given to do the APC.

Salary is negotiable according to experience but in the region of Euro 36000 to 55000 per annum depending on your experience plus other discretionary bonus etc.
