THE ROLE
I am seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor who also has some experience of doing the Employer’s Agent or Project Management role to join a small ambitious firm of PQS in Birmingham.
You will work have the opportunity to work on a good range of projects for new build apartments, student accommodation, industrial buildings, a wind farm and other projects. They are also doing some refurbishment projects.
Projects are generally valued from c. £500K to around £30m.
THE COMPANY
My client is a busy small firm of construction consultants providing Quantity Surveying / Cost Management and some project management services.
They work mainly for private and public sector clients.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be a either Chartered Quantity Surveyor who has completed your BSc in Quantity Surveying and is MRICS qualified or be “chartered” by experience.
You will either be ready to step up to Senior QS level from Project Surveyor level or already be at Senior level.
You will need to have gained some experience of either the EMPLOYER’S AGENT role or the PROJECT MANAGEMENT role as this role will involve you doing both Quantity Surveying as well as some EA or PM duties.
You must have good pre and post contract cost management skills.
You must have been working for another firm of PQS.
You must have excellent English both written and spoken.
Salary is negotiable around £55000 to £75000 plus RICS fees, pension, discretionary bonus. My client works from the Birmingham office 3 days per week with the other 2 days spent on site, at client offices or possibly working from home.
