THE ROLE
I am seeking a Project Manager or Project Co-ordinator, at assistant or intermediate level, in the Building Construction industry who has good German and good English to join a firm of construction consultants in Germany based in Dusseldorf.
You will work on construction projects from feasibility through project delivery dealing with cost, budgets, quality, risk management, coordination, monitoring, specifications, coordination of tenders and more.
You will also deal with cost and schedule control of projects, negotiate with clients who could be owners or occupiers, and do some project monitoring and be in charge of budgets etc.
My client is working on a range of projects including hotels and retail projects for new build, refurbishment, extensions, fit out etc.
My client will offer you good support to work towards becoming chartered along with good prospects for promotion.
THE COMPANY
My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing clients with Project Management and Quantity Surveying services.
They operate in the UK and across Europe and have been working on construction projects in Germany for almost 30 years.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be Degree qualified in a construction related subject e.g. Construction Management, Construction Project Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Civil Engineering or other Building Construction subject.
Ideally you will be working towards becoming chartered or keen on working towards chartership with ICE, IOB, RICS or similar or you may already be chartered.
You will need to have gained around a couple of years or more post graduate experience or more in a building construction related role, ideally in project management in construction and be keen to progress your career with a firm of consultants doing project management and project co-ordination.
Some experience in the use of MS Project and MS Office is preferred.
You will ideally have been working for a firm of building construction consultants or worked client-side in project management.
You must have an understanding of commercial and economic aspects of construction projects.
You will need fluent or at least good German. Good English is also required.
Good communication skills are essential and to have the ability to deal with people at all levels.
Salary is negotiable according to experience but in the region of Euro 55000 to 70000 per annum depending on your experience plus other benefits along with support towards becoming chartered as a project manager if you are not chartered already. There is also a discretionary bonus scheme.
