THE ROLE
I am seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who is working towards becoming RICS qualified to join a dynamic firm of PQS in the City of London area.
You will work on new build, refurbishment and fit out projects for hotels, residential, offices, student accommodation projects.
Projects generally valued between £10m to £30m with some smaller and some larger.
You help to run projects and you will report to a Senior QS or Associate depending on size of project.
My client will also encourage and assist with you doing your APC to become chartered.
THE COMPANY
My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing project management and cost management services to private and corporate clients.
They are mainly working on London based projects however are also involved in some projects across Europe as required by clients.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager in the building construction industry.
You will need to be working for another firm of construction consultants or multi disciplinary consultants in the construction industry.
You will either have a Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying which is RICS accredited or a similar degree and you will need to have gained some experience of working as a QS for another firm of private practice quantity surveyors or multi disciplinary consultants – either post graduate or as a year out or during doing your degree.
You will have gained some experience of pre and post contract duties including feasibility studies, cost planning, tender documentation and award, contract administration and all post contract duties.
Ideally you should have some experience of using JCT contracts.
You must have excellent English to write formal reports and documents.
Salary is negotiable according to your experience but likely to be in the range of £30000 to £37500 per annum plus pension, fees and discretionary bonus.
