THE ROLE
I am seeking a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join my client, a firm of PQS in any of their UK offices.
The ideal candidate will have worked on some Data Centre projects for either new build, extension, fit out etc. Experience of other types of buildings also preferred.
My client is expanding their division working on data centres so there will be plenty of opportunity for promotion.
You should have excellent experience of pre and post contract work for mechanical and electrical engineering services working as a PQS.
THE COMPANY
My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing cost management, employers agent, project management, MEP cost management and building surveying services to private and corporate clients.
They have offices across the UK and abroad.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be an MEP Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager with at least three years post graduate experience working as an MEP QS, in the building construction industry.
Ideally you will have gained some experience of working on data centres although experience of doing MEP services on other buildings is also of interest.
You will need to be working for another firm of construction consultants or multi disciplinary consultants in the construction industry.
You will need to have a good understanding of all mechanical and electrical services for buildings.
You must have worked as a QS from feasibility through project delivery and handover doing pre and post contract work.
You will be fully conversant with all pre and post contract duties including feasibility studies, cost planning, tender documentation and award, contract administration and all post contract duties.
You will have good overall technical knowledge of construction procedures.
You should have experience of using JCT contracts.
You must have excellent English to write formal reports and documents.
Salary is negotiable according to your experience but likely to be in the range of £65000 to £100000 per annum plus pension, fees and discretionary bonus.
The upper end of the salary will be for someone with good data centre experience.
