THE ROLE
Due to continued growth my client now seeks a Project Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join them in their Birmingham office.
You will work on retail and / or industrial projects for a range of global clients.
Projects include retail roll outs, shopping centre refurbishments, logistic centres, manufacturing facilities, storage facilities etc.
This role will offer good prospects for someone keen to move up within a firm of PQS.
You will work on all aspects of the PQS role doing pre and post contract work.
You should be able to deal with people at all levels and run your own projects or work within a small team on larger projects..
THE COMPANY
My client is a medium sized firm of construction consultants providing clients with Project Management and Quantity Surveying services with offices in London and the Midlands.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be Degree qualified in a construction related subject e.g. Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering or similar.
You may be a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS qualified) or be approaching sitting the APC to become chartered.
Ideally you should have some experience of working on retail or industrial projects or be keen to do so having worked on other high value complex projects.
You will need some experience of feasibility studies, cost estimating, cost planning, cash flow forecasting, contractual advice, value engineering, contractor selection, tender documentation, along with all post contract work including valuations, variations etc.
My client is seeking someone who is working for a firm of PQS / construction consultants.
Good communication skills are essential and to have the ability to deal with people at all levels.
You should be able to run your own projects or work as part of a team on very high value projects.
Salary is negotiable according to experience but in the region of £38000 to £55000 per annum depending on your experience plus other benefits including pension, RICS fees, discretionary bonus etc.
